  • 5 lbs. Cleaned mussels
  • 5 tbsp. Vegetable oil
  • 2/3 cup Cider or red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Minced shallots
  • 1/4 cup Minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup Finely diced green bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup Finely diced red bell pepper
  • 2 cups Chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup Chopped cilantro
  • 1 cup FRANK'S® REDHOT® Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce
  • 1 tbsp. Lime juice
  • to taste Seafood seasoning blend


  • 1. Steam mussels until shells open, let cool, remove meat from shells and chill. Strain steaming broth and chill.
  • 2.   Combine oil, vinegar, shallots, garlic, bell peppers, tomatoes, cilantro, RedHot Sauce, lime juice, and seasoning. Add approximately 1 cup reserved mussel broth and toss in chilled mussels. Serve chilled mussels on a bed of mixed greens.
